Castries, Saint Lucia – July 30, 2025 — The Department of Crown Lands and the Ministry of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture, and Information have announced that construction work on the long-awaited Reduit Beach Park at Mount Pimard will begin on Monday, August 4, 2025.

The six-week project will start with erecting safety fencing to mark off the construction area, clearing and demolishing non-permanent structures on the site, laying base material and grading for internal pathways and infrastructure, and installing utilities ahead of landscaping and coastal enhancement works.
In a bid to maintain public access during the works, officials say a temporary footpath will be created near the south end of Reduit Beach, next to the former Starfish Resort. The measure is intended to safeguard the public while allowing beachgoers, residents, and workers to continue using the area.

When completed, the Reduit Beach Park will feature modern, family-friendly beach amenities, improved accessibility and parking, designated vendor spaces, and recreational areas for the community. The Ministry says the upgrade is designed to enhance the experience for both locals and visitors while boosting the area’s appeal as a tourism hub.
Officials have thanked the public for their patience and cooperation, noting that every effort will be made to complete the project efficiently and with minimal disruption to regular beach activities. Updates on construction progress and details on the park’s features will be released in the coming weeks.
