Yung Bredda Delivers Powerful Message of Redemption and Self-Belief to Boys Training Centre

Must Read

Trinidadian soca sensation Yung Bredda took a pause from the spotlight this week to share a deeply personal and inspirational message with the wards of the Boys Training Centre, urging them to believe in themselves, respect their roots, and make the conscious decision to live with purpose.

In a heartfelt address, Yung Bredda opened up about his own troubled past, revealing that he once walked a dangerous path before finding faith and purpose.

“I sold drugs, I held guns. There’s nothing I didn’t do… And, eh, it didn’t make any sense,” he told the young men candidly. “I didn’t believe in God. But I went and I got baptized… I’m not a big church man, but I know that there is a Father.”

His message was clear: change is possible, but it begins with faith, action, and self-worth.

“As much as you want something for yourself, God ain’t going to just send it to you. You have to get up and work for it,” he continued. “While you’re going for it, you’re praying and you’re saying, ‘God, help me to get through this.’”

Yung Bredda didn’t just speak about spirituality—he drove home the importance of self-respect, accountability, and personal growth.

“You want people to respect you, you have to respect yourself. You want people to love you, you have to love yourself,” he said. “You want people to see you as a man, then you have to do manly things and be a man.”

He encouraged the young men to honor their families and remember the value of parental love and guidance.

“Treat your mother and love your mother, because one mother alone you could have. One father. Do the right thing,” he advised.

Perhaps the most powerful part of his message was his call for the boys to believe in themselves—especially when the world feels against them.

“If you don’t believe in yourself as much as people believe in you, and you don’t believe in yourself, it will never work,” he said. “Anything in the world is possible. You just have to know it.”

He concluded with a motivational mantra: “Tell yourself every morning you wake up, ‘I am going to be something.’ And you might not even know it until the day it really happens. You say, ‘I used to tell myself every day, I’m going to be something,’ and that is how it happened for me.”

The session was met with appreciation and reflection from the audience, as the soca star used his platform not just to entertain, but to uplift and empower.

Yung Bredda’s words served as a reminder that even in the darkest of circumstances, change is always within reach for those who are willing to work, believe, and rise.
