Police have launched a homicide investigation after a 40-year-old man was found with multiple gunshot wounds in Bexon, Castries, on Saturday night. The victim has been identified as Justus Leo of Belaire, New Development.
According to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF), officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department received a report of a shooting in Bexon at approximately 8:55 p.m. on Saturday, September 26.
When authorities responded, Leo was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds about his body. A medical practitioner subsequently pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police have not disclosed the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including whether a suspect or motive has been identified.
The latest shooting is the second to have occurred within the span of 4 days in Bexon. On September 23rd a man was found dead with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds, including injuries to the back and head, in a garden near a learning institution in Bexon.
The RSLPF said investigations remain ongoing, while a post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted at a later date.
