Barbados is gearing up for a major entertainment showcase later this month as more than 20 local, regional and international acts prepare to take the stage at Kensington Oval for the 2026 Barbados Reggae Weekend from April 24 to 26, in what organisers are positioning as one of the island’s standout live music events of the year.
The three-day event will feature a wide cross-section of reggae and dancehall talent, opening on Friday, April 24 with the Mount Gay Legends of Reggae Show and Dance. That opening night will be headlined by Barrington Levy, Norris Man, Sister Nancy, Super Cat, JC Lodge and local performer Biggie Irie.
On Saturday, April 25, the focus shifts to dancehall with the Guinness Showdown, which is set to feature Capleton, General Degree, Popcaan and 450, alongside local acts Doejay, Weather 40, Brutal Crankstar and Idea the Artist.
The weekend will climax on Sunday, April 26 with Reggae in the Gardens, headlined by Dexta Daps, D’Yani, Fantasia, Kranium and Admiral Tibet. Also appearing are local favourites Spice and Company, DJ Puffy, and Rite Side of Red featuring Buggy Nhakente and Rhesa Garnes.
Organisers say the event has grown steadily since its launch in 2024 and is now firmly establishing itself as a key fixture on Barbados’ entertainment calendar. Sponsorship Manager Michelle Straughn said the vision from the beginning was to create a high-quality three-day experience that goes beyond live performances and offers patrons something distinctive.
She said the festival has continued to expand each year, both in terms of its lineup and its overall appeal, noting that the 2026 edition has raised the bar again with the addition of international star Fantasia.
Straughn also said response to the event has been encouraging, with strong local interest as well as growing appeal among overseas visitors, including patrons travelling to Barbados from as far as Europe and Africa. That rising demand points to the event’s increasing draw not only as an entertainment product, but also as a tourism-linked attraction.
Ticket prices range from BDS$120 for Friday’s Tier 2 entry to BDS$1,000 for Tier 2 Luxe season passes. General Tier 2 tickets for both Saturday and Sunday are priced at BDS$150, while premium food-inclusive experiences range from BDS$450 to BDS$550. Tickets are available online and through official box offices across Barbados.
With a packed lineup, an iconic venue and growing regional and international attention, the 2026 Barbados Reggae Weekend is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated entertainment events on Barbados’ April calendar.
