Child Injured in Early Morning House Fire in Dennery, Cause Under Investigation

DENNERY, SAINT LUCIA — A child was hospitalized after a house fire erupted in the early hours of Monday, June 9th, in a Dennery community. According to the Saint Lucia Fire Service, the Dennery Fire Station received an emergency call at approximately 1:50 a.m. after nearby residents observed flames engulfing a residential structure.

The fire occurred in a concrete home measuring 30 by 40 feet. Preliminary reports confirm that a child sustained first-degree burns to the hand and was transported for medical treatment. The extent of damage to the property and surrounding area has not yet been disclosed.
