Man in Custody After Fatal Shooting of Kade “Kape” JnBaptiste in Marigot

A male suspect is in police custody in connection with the fatal shooting of 31-year-old Kade JnBaptiste, also known as “Kape,” of Derrière Lagoon, Jacmel.

On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at approximately 7:50 p.m., officers from the Marigot Police Station responded to reports of gunfire in Coolie Town, Marigot. Upon arrival, first responders discovered JnBaptiste unresponsive with apparent gunshot wounds to the torso. Personnel from the Saint Lucia Fire Service provided medical assistance, but JnBaptiste succumbed to his injuries on the scene. A medical doctor later confirmed his death.

Following initial investigations, law enforcement officials apprehended a male suspect in connection with the shooting. Authorities have not yet disclosed his identity or possible charges.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Law enforcement officials urge anyone with information to contact the nearest police station or the Crime Hotline.
