Law enforcement agencies, working alongside the Customs and Excise Department, conducted a coordinated twelve-hour joint operation aimed at disrupting organized criminal activity and intercepting the illegal importation of drugs and firearms.
The exercise was carried out between 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, and 5:00 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, beginning at Port Castries and extending to several residential locations.
During the initial phase of the operation, officers searched two sheds at Port Castries, examining a total of 17 consignments. This resulted in the seizure of multiple consignments of cannabis products, including compressed cannabis, cannabis wax, and cannabis resin.
The combined weight of the substances exceeded 10 kilograms, with an estimated total street value of approximately EC $275,600.00.
Authorities reported that the quantities, packaging methods, and high value of the drugs strongly indicated an intent to traffic the substances for commercial distribution.
Search warrants were executed at two residential premises in the early hours of Friday, December 5, 2025.
At one location, linked to a previous firearm importation interdiction at Port Castries, officers recovered nine pistols of various makes and calibers from a connected consignment.
A second search, associated with a previously intercepted barrel at the port, led to the recovery of 3.14 kilograms of cannabis and 6.28 kilograms of cannabis resin, valued at an estimated EC $282,600.00. An additional 50.5 grams of cannabis was also found on the premises.
Authorities stated that the large quantities recovered and the concealment methods used further suggest the drugs were intended for supply and commercial distribution.
Investigations into the seizures remain ongoing.
