Two Saint Lucian fishermen, Antoninus Jn Baptiste—widely known as Chad—and George Valcin, who were reported missing at sea for over 10 days, have been found alive, sparking an outpouring of relief across the island.
The men’s survival came to light after a video—now viral—surfaced online, showing one of the stranded fishermen describing their harrowing ordeal and proximity to land. The emotional plea prompted swift action from regional authorities, who have since confirmed their rescue. However, specific details surrounding the location, timing, and manner of the rescue remain undisclosed.
While initial missing persons reports pointed to two individuals, sources close to the situation suggest that at least four people were rescued from the drifting vessel. The identities and condition of the other passengers have not yet been confirmed.
Arrangements are now underway to repatriate the men to Saint Lucia. Their survival after more than 10 days at sea has been hailed as miraculous
