Castries, April 30, 2025 — As the curtains rose on the 2025 Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival at the Mindoo Phillip Park, LUCELEC amplified the opening with a powerful reaffirmation of its Platinum sponsorship, celebrating more than 30 years of powering one of the region’s most iconic festivals.
The utility company announced its continued support not only for the mainstage events but for a wide range of community jazz celebrations islandwide. These include long-time favourites like Soufriere Jazz, Monchy Mizik En Kweyol, and Vieux-Fort’s Mouvman Ansamn, alongside newer additions such as Jazz en Vierge in Micoud, Choiseul Jazz Fiesta, and the Anse La Raye Fish Fry Jazz.
LUCELEC also deepens its partnership with the Cultural Development Foundation through support for the “Art and the City” initiative—an integral component of the festival’s arts offering.
“LUCELEC has been a proud partner sponsor of the Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival from its very inception,” said Omari Frederick, Senior Manager of Corporate Communications. “Over the years, the festival has become a beacon of cultural, social, and economic development in Saint Lucia. One cannot deny the immense power it brings both at the national and community level, driving economic activity and impacting many households.”
The company will once again roll out its “Powering the Rhythm of Jazz” campaign during the festival season, giving audiences a behind-the-scenes look at how LUCELEC keeps the island electrified and the music alive. The multimedia campaign will include a new television commercial and a social media push aimed at celebrating the power behind the performances.
The 2025 festival runs from April 30 to May 11, culminating at the historic Pigeon Island National Landmark. As always, LUCELEC’s footprint extends far beyond its infrastructure, illuminating its role as a cultural and economic force powering Saint Lucia’s creative energy.
