UPDATE: Sergeant Remanded to Custody After Bail Denied in M16 Rifle Theft Case

Veteran Sergeant of Police, Ricardo Jerson Charlemagne, has been remanded to the Bordelais Correctional Facility after being denied bail by the First District Court on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. Charlemagne made a bail application following his arrest in connection with the disappearance of an M16 rifle from the Gros Islet Police Station armoury on Saturday, February 15, 2025.

On Monday, February 24, 2025, the Major Crimes Unit of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force formally charged Charlemagne with the offence of stealing in connection with the missing weapon.
