A late-afternoon marine accident off the coast of Soufrière has left one man dead and another injured after they were reportedly struck by a speedboat while spear fishing.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, January 7, 2026, in waters near a hotel along the Soufrière coastline. Preliminary information indicates that the two men were in the water spear fishing when they were hit by the vessel.
Emergency responders were alerted shortly after the collision and arrived on the scene to render assistance.
One of the individuals was pronounced dead, while the other sustained injuries and was transported to a medical facility for treatment. His condition has not been officially disclosed.
