Castries, January 5th 2025 – In the spirit of the Christmas season and just days before the holiday, the Koudmen Ste Lisi (KSL) unit of the Saint Lucia Social Development Fund (SSDF) hosted a Christmas Family Fun Day for its clients, underscoring the critical role of the family unit in social development.

The event was held on Tuesday, December 23rd, 2025 at Aloe’s Farm in Vieux Fort, where families and children affiliated with the KSL Programme were treated to a day of celebration and recreation. The venue came alive with laughter and excitement as children enjoyed a range of activities including bouncy castles, face painting, gifts and holiday treats, creating a warm and festive atmosphere for all in attendance.

Programme Coordinator Ms. Wendy Monrose explained that the initiative was designed to bring family and their clients together in a relaxed and joyful setting, while reinforcing positive family dynamics. She noted that the activity sought to promote unity, strengthen familial bonds and highlight the central role that stable family environments play in the healthy development of children.
Ms. Monrose also expressed appreciation to the sponsors and partners who collaborated with the KSL team to make the event possible, noting that their support contributed significantly to the success of the day and the smiles witnessed on the faces of the children.
Koudmen Ste Lisi is a flagship initiative aimed at empowering vulnerable households to improve their socio-economic circumstances. Through targeted support and opportunities for income generating activities, the programme assists clients in building self-reliance and transitioning from the Public Assistance Programme (PAP) toward greater financial independence and long term sustainability.
