The elderly man who had been reported missing since November 2nd has been found dead. Police have confirmed the body discovered on Friday, November 7th, to be that of 85-year-old Antoine Clearance James.
According to law enforcement, around 12:50 p.m. on Friday, officers attached to the Micoud Police Station responded to a report of a lifeless body found in a bushy area in Lomba, Mon Repos. Upon arrival, police confirmed the deceased to be Mr. James, who had been the subject of a missing person alert earlier in the week.
Preliminary investigations indicate no signs of foul play, police said in a statement.
Family members told Saint Lucia Daily Post that Mr. James had been living with dementia, which may have contributed to his disappearance.
An official post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
