Two-time parliamentary representative for Choiseul/Saltibus, Bradley Felix, says he remains unbothered by the Saint Lucia Labour Party’s (SLP) newly announced candidate, Keithson “Kiffo” Charles, as the island inches closer to the next general election.
Felix, who has represented the constituency under the United Workers Party (UWP), said he is confident that the people of Choiseul/Saltibus will once again make the “right decision” when the time comes.
“I mean, 2016, there was a lot of noise; 2021, there was a lot of noise. Likewise, this time around there is a lot of noise, a lot of misinformation, a lot of propaganda, a lot of hate being spread. But I’m used to it,” Felix stated. “At the end of the day, I’m very certain that the Choiseul/Saltibus people will make the right decision.”
Charles, meanwhile, in a recent appearance on Chill and Chat with Maundy Lewis, explained that his decision to enter politics was not made hastily.
“It wasn’t a decision made on the spur of the moment, it’s a lifetime of moments,” he said, noting that his motivation stems not from fame or power but from “years of seeing people struggle, helping where I could, and realizing that true leadership begins with compassion.”
The SLP is set to officially launch Keithson Charles on November 2 at La Fargue, Choiseul. The next general election date has not yet been announced by Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre.
