Police are investigating the discovery of two bodies found in La Tourney, Vieux Fort, early Friday morning.
Details remain scarce, but officers from the Major Crimes Unit have cordoned off the area and are combing the scene for clues. Saint Lucia Daily Post has confirmed that the deceased are male residents of the community.
According to residents, gunfire echoed through the community the previous night, sparking fear and concern among households.
This latest double killing marks the fourth homicide in less than a week, pushing Saint Lucia’s homicide count to 51 so far this year.
On Tuesday evening, 30-year-old Josiah Harmond was gunned down by an assailant on a motorcycle in Gros Islet. That murder came just days prior to the discovery of another body at Active Hill, Castries, which bore apparent gunshot wounds.
Police have not yet officially released the identities of the two men found in La Tourney or disclosed any possible motives. No arrests have been reported.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the police as investigations continue.
