Bexon Man Dies in Suspected Drowning at Crownlands River

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) has launched an investigation into a suspected drowning incident that claimed the life of a 43-year-old man on Thursday, August 21, 2025.

According to police reports, officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) responded to a call around 2:56 p.m. after receiving information about a possible drowning at the Bexon River near Crownlands.

Upon arrival, law enforcement officers were directed to a location near a bridge, where they discovered the lifeless body of a male individual. He was later transported to the Owen King European Hospital (OKEU), where a medical practitioner pronounced him dead.

The deceased has been formally identified as Wilter Joseph, also known by the aliases “Ti Cout” and “Yardman”, a resident of Crownlands, Bexon.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the official cause of death. The RSLPF has confirmed that investigations are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
