70-Year-Old Man Dies in Suspected Drowning at Anse L’Ivrogne

 A 70-year-old man has died in a suspected drowning incident at Anse L’Ivrogne.

According to police reports, officers attached to the Choiseul Police Station responded to the scene around 12:38 p.m. on August 18, 2025, where they discovered the lifeless body of a man lying on his back along a rocky section of the beach.

Personnel from the Saint Lucia Fire Service transported the victim to St. Jude Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.

The deceased has been identified as Patrick Johnson Alphonse, a long-standing resident of Bois D’Inde, Choiseul.

Authorities say investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
