A man known in the community as “Posess” was shot and killed in Wilton’s Yard early Tuesday morning. Another man, identified as Mandel, was injured in the attack.
According to sources, several gunmen entered the area in the early hours and opened fire. Investigators are still working to determine what led to the shooting.
The violence adds to a string of recent gun incidents. On Sunday, a drive-by shooting in New Village left two people injured. Hours later, another man was wounded in a separate shooting at Morne Du Don. Police believe those two incidents are connected but have not confirmed any link to Tuesday’s attack.
On Monday, residents of Marchand were startled by gunfire in broad daylight. Bullets struck the windscreen and side of a white Suzuki Swift, but no one was hurt.
Police say their investigations into all the incidents are ongoing.
