SAINT LUCIA — Carnival celebrations turned serious on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, when police arrested a 33-year-old man during routine patrols after his suspicious behavior drew their attention.
Officers on foot patrol intercepted the individual, later identified as Chad Louisy, and conducted a search that yielded a significant haul of controlled drugs. Recovered from Louisy were 138 grams of cannabis resin, 25 packets of ecstasy, and three packets of molly.
The matter was immediately handed over to the Gangs, Narcotics and Firearms Unit (GNFU), which launched a full-scale investigation. Louisy has since been formally charged with three counts of possession of controlled drugs—namely cannabis resin, ecstasy, and molly—as well as three counts of possession with intent to supply.
The case remains under active investigation.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining public safety, particularly during major national events such as Carnival. Authorities continue to urge the public to report suspicious activity by calling the Crime Hotline at 555 or using the RSLPF Crime Hotline App.
