Drug Shipment Intercepted in Vieux Fort: Police Arrest and Charge Two in Major Narcotics Bust

Must Read

VIEUX FORT, SAINT LUCIA — June 30, 2025 — A high-stakes intelligence-led operation by the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) has resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of a quantity of illegal drugs in Vieux Fort.

The operation, executed on Friday, June 27, 2025, was spearheaded by the Gangs, Narcotics, and Firearms Unit (GNFU) following a tip-off about a suspicious package arriving at the port. Acting swiftly, officers retrieved the package from the cargo shed before intercepting it during a coordinated sting operation in the southern town.

Upon inspection, authorities discovered four kilograms of compressed cannabis and two kilograms of cannabis resin concealed within common household items — an apparent attempt to evade detection.

The suspects — identified as Andrina Epiphane and Shaquille Walker — were arrested without incident and have since been formally charged with multiple offenses, including Possession of Controlled Drugs, Possession with Intent to Supply, and Importation of Controlled Drugs.

In addition to the drug bust, the Financial Intelligence Authority has launched a parallel financial investigation to probe possible money laundering activities and initiate asset forfeiture proceedings against the accused.
