(Castries – May 27, 2025) – In response to unprecedented interest and an expanded event lineup, the Carnival Planning and Management Committee (CPMC) has announced key adjustments to the Lucian Junior Carnival calendar to better accommodate growing participation and ensure smoother event flow.

The 2025 edition of Lucian Junior Carnival officially launched on May 15 and has since seen a surge in involvement from schools across the island, particularly in the National Schools Calypso Competition and the debut of the National Schools Soca Competition. The additions were designed to offer more avenues for young Saint Lucians to showcase their talent while deepening their connection to local culture.

Given the uptick in activity and feedback from stakeholders, the CPMC has revised the schedule to enhance event pacing, prioritize youth safety, and ensure timely finishes that allow families to fully enjoy the festivities without late returns home.
A notable change includes splitting music competitions by school level—primary and secondary—allowing performances to be tailored to the developmental stages of each group and ensuring every child has a spotlight moment.
Revised Schedule Highlights:
National Primary Schools Calypso & Soca Competition – Thursday, June 5 at 9:30 a.m.
National Secondary Schools Calypso & Soca Competition – Friday, June 6 at 9:30 a.m.
National Schools Pan Festival – Saturday, June 7 at 2:00 p.m.
All events will now be hosted at Mindoo Phillip Park, a move aimed at centralizing venues and improving accessibility for attendees.
