April 3, 2025 – Castries/Kingstown: A St. Lucian national is among two men charged with attempted murder following a gun-related incident that has rocked the Richmond Hill community in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force has confirmed that Laurent Isidore, a 26-year-old labourer with ties to both St. Lucia and Gibson Corner, was arrested and jointly charged alongside 17-year-old Keon Hackshaw of Ottley Hall for the attempted murder of 26-year-old Michael Richards, a steel bender from Diamond.
The shooting occurred around 1:00 p.m. on April 1, near the Girls’ High School bus stop in Richmond Hill – an area often bustling with students and commuters. According to police, the pair allegedly opened fire on Richards, shooting him multiple times. He remains in critical condition at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.
Isidore and Hackshaw were each additionally charged with possession of unlicensed firearms with intent to commit murder, and unlawful use of a firearm. Police reportedly recovered one firearm from each suspect shortly after the incident.
Both men appeared before the Serious Offences Court in Kingstown on Thursday and were remanded into custody. They are due back in court on April 10 for arraignment, at which time no plea will be entered due to the indictable nature of the charges.
