A 21-year-old man has died following a shooting incident in Anse La Raye late Tuesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Shawndel Deterville, also known as “Sunny.” Reports indicate that the incident occurred around 11:43 p.m., when gunfire erupted in the community under circumstances that remain under investigation.
Deterville reportedly sustained penetrating gunshot wounds to the back and leg during the incident. He was transported to the Owen King EU (OKEU) Hospital while clinging to life, but later succumbed to his injuries.
Information reaching Saint Lucia Daily Post indicates that one suspect is believed to be in police custody, as investigations into the fatal shooting continue.
Authorities have not yet released official details regarding the motive behind the attack. The matter remains a developing story.
