New Committee Signals Fresh Start for Dennery Carnival 2026

Must Read

A new chapter is unfolding for Dennery Carnival, as the Dennery Carnival Planning Committee has announced the installation of a revitalized leadership team ahead of Carnival 2026, signalling what organizers describe as a renewed commitment to excellence, unity, and community pride.

In a press release issued this week, the committee confirmed that the restructuring marks a deliberate effort to rebuild confidence in the festival and restore Dennery Carnival as a vibrant and inclusive cultural celebration. The initiative is being led by Mr. Ramel Polius, working alongside President Mrs. Asmara James, supported by a diverse team of community-minded individuals.

The newly installed committee includes Sylvia Edward, Antonia Joseph, Emaline Hunte, Kamala Vitalis, Mickey Bernard, Anton Prospere, Joneil Pelage, Cheryl Prospere, Chrissy Edward, and Souzia Aimable.

According to the committee, the reorganization represents more than a change in leadership. It reflects a broader vision rooted in transparency, collaboration, and accountability, while acknowledging challenges experienced in previous carnival seasons. The committee has openly recognized concerns raised by members of the community in past years, noting that rebuilding trust and fostering inclusion will be central to its approach going forward. “The goal is to deliver a vibrant, inclusive, and well-organized carnival experience that truly reflects the spirit of Dennery South,” the committee stated, emphasizing that healing, dialogue, and collective responsibility will guide the planning process.

Organizers have also begun early preparations for Carnival 2026, describing plans for a dynamic programme of activities designed to celebrate Dennery’s culture, resilience, and creativity. However, they stress that the success of the season will depend heavily on collaboration with stakeholders, including revellers, band leaders, artists, vendors, sponsors, and the wider community.

An open invitation has been extended to the public to participate in the planning and execution of Dennery Carnival 2026, with the committee encouraging residents to contribute ideas and actively engage in shaping the festival’s future.

The committee has urged the public to follow its official social media platforms for updates, announcements, and opportunities to get involved as preparations continue.

Dennery Carnival 2026 is being promoted under the theme: “Small Stage, Big Vibes!”, as organizers aim to usher in a renewed carnival experience defined by unity, creativity, and pride.
