A vehicular accident in Soufriere on Thursday afternoon left at least twelve people injured, including ten students and a driver, triggering an emergency medical response.
Preliminary information indicates that twelve individuals were transported by ambulance, while two others were taken to medical facilities by private means prior to the arrival of emergency responders. Among those injured were ten students and one driver, all of whom reportedly sustained abrasions, lacerations and swelling (edema) to various parts of the body.
Emergency responders were also required to extricate a trapped front-seat passenger, who sustained deformities to the right knee and left shoulder, highlighting the seriousness of the crash.
At this time, authorities have not released official details regarding the cause of the accident, the precise location, or the ages of those involved. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
