Police have launched an investigation into a reported aggravated burglary and violent assault at an Airbnb property in Trouya, Gros Islet, following a disturbing early-morning incident that has left residents shaken.
Details remain limited as investigations continue, but residents in the usually quiet community told Saint Lucia Daily Post they were jolted awake by the sound of screams, an occurrence they described as highly unusual for the area.
According to the Saint Lucia Fire and Emergency Services, officers responded at approximately 2:50 am on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, to reports of an alleged stabbing at Trouya, Bois d’Orange. Upon arrival, emergency responders found an adult female in the care of police officers.
An initial assessment revealed puncture wounds to the woman’s hands and lacerations to her gluteal region or buttocks. The victim reportedly told officials she had been assaulted by an unknown assailant. She was treated at the scene before being transported to a medical facility for advanced medical care. Her current condition has not been disclosed.
Police have since confirmed that an investigation is underway, but have not released further information on the circumstances surrounding the attack, whether any items were stolen, or if suspects are being sought.
