Saint Lucia’s law enforcement continues to make strides in the fight against illegal drug trafficking with a major narcotics seizure on Wednesday afternoon. The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) uncovered a staggering 196 kilograms of cocaine during a targeted operation, with an estimated street value exceeding EC$4 million.
The cache of cocaine was discovered in the area between Dauphin Beach and La Bourne, Monchy. While authorities have yet to confirm any arrests linked to the find, the bust has again highlighted the RSLPF’s ongoing crackdown on gun and drug crimes—especially the efforts of the Gang, Narcotics, and Firearms Unit.
This operation follows a similarly impactful raid just days prior, where the RSLPF and Special Operations team confiscated 17 illegal firearms and more than 3,000 rounds of ammunition at Wharf, Castries.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Ronald Philip praised the officers for their unwavering commitment to reducing crime island-wide. He credited routine patrols for the breakthrough and underscored the vital role of the upgraded canine unit in detecting hidden contraband.
Law enforcement has intensified its focus on curbing organized crime and securing public safety, with this latest seizure marking a major step in Saint Lucia’s anti-narcotics campaign.
