Saint Lucian toastmaster Yvonne Edwin has captured first place in an international speech contest during the prestigious District 81 Conference, currently underway at the Radisson Hotel in Barbados.
Edwin, a Distinguished Toastmaster and seasoned public speaker, represented Saint Lucia at the Division level and emerged victorious in the fiercely contested event. Her win propels her to the global stage, where she will now compete against the world’s best speakers.
The speech contest journey began in January 2025, with participants advancing through a series of challenging rounds at the club, area, division, and finally district levels. Edwin’s success marks a proud moment for Saint Lucia, as she now stands poised to showcase her talent and represent the Caribbean region in the next phase of the Toastmasters International World Championship of Public Speaking.
