A targeted police operation in the south of the island has led to the seizure of firearms, ammunition, and narcotics, following coordinated action by officers attached to the Gangs, Narcotics and Firearms Unit (Southern Detachment).
The operation, carried out on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, focused on La Ressource in Vieux Fort, where officers conducted reconnaissance and area searches at a suspected cannabis plantation. Law enforcement officials reported encountering five male individuals at the location, where there were clear indications of recent harvesting activity.
A subsequent search of the area resulted in the recovery of two firearms, assorted rounds of ammunition, quantities of suspected cannabis resin, and cannabis plants. The discovery triggered follow-up operations across multiple locations, culminating in the arrest of six individuals.
Authorities have since brought charges against four men: 18-year-old Nathan Augustin, 20-year-old Kyron Junior Celise, 28-year-old Keri Neptune, and 34-year-old Dwayne William.
Augustin faces two counts of possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of ammunition, possession of controlled drugs, and possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply. He was granted bail totaling $47,500 cash.
Celise has been charged with possession of controlled drugs and possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply and was granted bail in the sum of $2,000 cash.
William faces charges of possession of controlled drugs, cultivation of a controlled plant, and cultivation of a controlled plant with intent to supply. He was granted bail of $2,000 cash.
Neptune has been similarly charged with possession of controlled drugs, cultivation of a controlled plant, and cultivation of a controlled plant with intent to supply, and was also granted bail of $2,000 cash.
Police say investigations are ongoing as efforts continue to disrupt illegal firearm and drug activity across the island.
