The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has announced an extension of the deadline for filing 2025 Personal Income Tax Returns, giving taxpayers additional time to meet their statutory obligations.
In a statement issued Tuesday, the IRD confirmed that the new filing deadline is now April 10, 2026, in accordance with provisions under the Income Tax Act. The extension is aimed at allowing individuals and businesses sufficient time to accurately complete and submit their returns while ensuring full compliance with tax requirements.
The Department is encouraging a wide cross-section of taxpayers—including employees, business owners, self-employed individuals, partnerships, and companies with a financial year ending December 31—to take advantage of the extended period. However, the IRD cautioned that penalties and interest will be applied to late submissions after the revised deadline, in keeping with the law.
As the filing season nears its close, the IRD emphasized its ongoing commitment to supporting taxpayers through guidance, tools, and customer assistance services. Officials are urging taxpayers not to delay, but instead use the additional time to ensure their filings are accurate and submitted on time.
The Department also expressed appreciation to the public for its continued cooperation and compliance with national tax obligations.
