Police Launch Homicide Probe After Fatal Shooting in Bois Patat

Police have launched a homicide investigation following a fatal shooting in Bois Patat, Castries on Saturday afternoon that left one man dead and another injured.

According to information released by the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF), officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department responded to reports of gunfire in the community around 5:20 p.m.

Initial reports indicated that two individuals sustained gunshot wounds. However, upon arrival at the scene, officers were informed that one of the injured men had already succumbed to his injuries. His lifeless body was discovered inside a motor vehicle.

A medical practitioner pronounced the victim dead at the scene. He has since been identified as 26-year-old Nicholas Ryan Rogers.

A post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted at a later date as part of the investigation.

Police are appealing to members of the public who may have information that could assist with the investigation to come forward. Individuals can contact the Major Crimes Unit at 456-3754, or provide anonymous tips via the Crime Hotline by dialling 555. Reports can also be submitted through the RSLPF Crime Hotline mobile application available on the Google Play Store.

Authorities continue to urge cooperation as efforts intensify to bring those responsible to justice.
