One man is dead following an incident in Morne Du Don, Castries, on Thursday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Germaine Modeste, also known as “Germs,” a resident of Morne Du Don.
Preliminary information indicates that Modeste was fatally stabbed during an altercation with a known individual. The incident reportedly occurred at approximately 6:00 p.m.
Emergency responders from the Saint Lucia Fire and Emergency Services were summoned to the scene to provide assistance. However, reports indicate that the victim was transported to hospital by private means. Despite efforts to save him, Modeste succumbed to his injuries.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has since launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities have not yet released further details as investigations continue.
