The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has renewed its appeal for public assistance as the search continues for 34-year-old Cassie John of La Toc, Castries, who has now been missing for more than 55 days.
John was reported missing on January 3, 2026, and has not been seen or heard from since. Her disappearance has caused mounting concern among relatives, friends, and the wider community, particularly amid reports that she is pregnant.
Her birthday on February 28 passed under a cloud of uncertainty, with loved ones marking the day in anxiety as they continue to hope for answers regarding her whereabouts.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Luke Defreitas confirmed that investigators have pursued multiple lines of inquiry since her disappearance. He disclosed that three persons of interest have been questioned on more than one occasion as part of the ongoing probe. “We have done an extensive amount of work in trying to find the young lady,” Defreitas said. “Like I said, we’ve brought in suspects, three suspects, and in each instance brought them in on more than one occasion.”
According to the Assistant Commissioner, officers have acted on every piece of information received and have consistently followed up on new leads. “Every time new information came our way, we followed up. To date, we have still not had any word on the whereabouts of this young lady, sadly,” he added.
Despite the lack of a breakthrough, police stress that the investigation remains active and ongoing, with officers continuing to assess and verify all available information. “We continue to work with every piece of information that we get. We continue to solicit the assistance from the general public, anyone who has any sort of information,” Defreitas stated.
He urged members of the public not to dismiss any detail they may have, emphasising that determining the credibility of information is the responsibility of law enforcement. “It is not for you to decide how reliable the information is, how credible it is.
The police will decide that, but anything you hear, you think that may be related to the incident, we would welcome the information from you,” he said.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force continues to appeal to anyone with knowledge of Cassie John’s whereabouts to come forward, noting that even the smallest detail could prove critical in bringing clarity and resolution to the case
