Barbadian National Charged After Controlled Drugs Found Hidden in Soap Boxes at Hewanorra

A Barbadian national is now facing drug-related charges after being intercepted at the Hewanorra International Airport with a large quantity of controlled drugs reportedly concealed in soap boxes.

Information reaching Saint Lucia Daily Post indicates that the suspect, Nathaniel Dottin, arrived from Canada when authorities flagged and searched his belongings. During the inspection, officers reportedly discovered the controlled substances hidden inside multiple soap boxes an apparent attempt to evade detection at the country’s main port of entry.

The arrest took place on Wednesday, January 21st. Dottin has since been charged and remains in custody as investigations continue.
