The mother of a La Clery man who was shot and killed earlier this week says she is leaving her son’s killers in the hands of God as she struggles to come to terms with his sudden death.
Speaking with quiet resolve, Cresentia Henry, the mother of Cresean Biscombe, said she has no words for those responsible for her son’s killing.
“Right now, I do not have anything to say. I just leave that into God. I do not have anything to say,” Henry stated. “I cannot do anything about it.”
Biscombe, 27, was fatally shot on Monday, January 19, 2026, during a daylight incident in La Clery, Castries.
According to police, officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department responded to a report of a shooting at about 12:45 p.m. Initial reports indicated that one male victim had been shot. He was attended to by St. Lucia Fire Service personnel and transported by ambulance to the Owen King European Hospital (OKEU), where he was later pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.
His mother said the family is still trying to understand why was he fatally shot, and is awaiting further medical findings.
“Right now, we’re working on it, exactly what went wrong,” she said, noting that a post-mortem examination is scheduled for later this week.
Henry said she received the devastating news through a co-worker, who called and told her that her son had been shot.
“It was one of my co-workers who called and asked someone to tell me my son got shot,” she recalled.
Describing her son, Henry said Biscombe was quiet and mostly kept to himself. She said she was shocked by the news, especially since she had spoken with him just weeks earlier.
“I was surprised because I wasn’t expecting that. The last time I spoke to my son was in December, when I went to bury my brother,” she said.
Biscombe lived separately from his mother and had no children. Henry said she was not fully aware of his work arrangements, noting that they did not live together.
As investigations continue, police have not released information on a motive or suspects. They are urging anyone with information related to the shooting to come forward.
Meanwhile, a grieving mother says her faith is helping her endure the loss.
“I just leave that into God,” Henry said.
