The Pan-African Council has appointed Dr. Gale T.C. Rigobert as Advisor on Caribbean Affairs, a move that highlights the growing importance of closer Africa–Caribbean ties in today’s shifting geopolitical landscape.
A former Saint Lucian Minister and Cambridge graduate, Dr. Rigobert previously lectured at the University of the West Indies’ Institute of International Relations, her alma mater, where she trained diplomats from across the region. She has since become a recognized voice on climate resilience, education reform, and technology integration, including artificial intelligence. More recently, she has championed the creative industries as a driver of economic diversification and global competitiveness for Caribbean economies.
Speaking on her appointment, Dr. Rigobert said: “This is more than a personal honor—it is an opportunity to help bridge continents that share similar aspirations. By working together, Africa and the Caribbean can transform their common history and heritage into strategic partnerships that advance prosperity and economic resilience.”
Dr. Rigobert looks forward to working with other sister agencies and stakeholders that share a similar ambition of deepening and strengthening relations between Africa and the Caribbean. As a long time advocate of South-South cooperation Dr. Rigobert is encouraged by the burgeoning cross-continental relations amplified in fora such as the recently held Africa-CARICOM Summit.
