(CASTRIES, SAINT LUCIA – July 13, 2025) — Dezral has solidified his dominance in the 2025 Carnival season, capturing his second major crown with a stellar victory at the Calypso Monarch competition held on Saturday, July 12, at the Sab in Vigie.

Already hailed for his Power Soca win alongside Jardel with the track “The Car”, Dezral returned to the calypso stage with commanding presence and lyrical prowess. Performing “The Kaiso Goat” and “The Immigrant”, Dezral outshone eight other contenders, earning a total of 766 points to reclaim the coveted monarch title.

TC Brown of the Kaiso Pros Tent came in as first runner-up with his powerful renditions of “My Choice” and “Kaiso”, narrowly missing the top spot with 764 points. South Calypso Tent’s Lushanne followed closely behind in second runner-up position with 755 points, performing “How We Love Thee” and “Crown Them”. Rounding off the top four was Educator from the Fire One tent, who took third runner-up with 742 points for his performances of “Drunk Cars” and “Great Again”.
The Calypso Monarch showdown was one of the most anticipated events of Lucian Carnival 2025, drawing fans of lyrical wit, sharp commentary, and the powerful storytelling that defines the calypso genre.
The festive weekend of Carnival continues with the Junior Parade of the Bands and the Republic Bank Panorama on Sunday, July 13, followed by King and Queen of the Bands on Monday, July 14.
