Castries, Saint Lucia – Saint Lucia has bestowed one of its highest honours on Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, formally recognizing his leadership and commitment to advancing African-Caribbean relations.

Acting on the advice of Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre, the Governor General has conferred the title of Knight Commander of the Order of Saint Lucia (KCOSL) on the Nigerian leader, in an official investiture that cements bilateral ties between the two nations.
The honour acknowledges President Tinubu’s contributions to key areas of shared interest, including trade and investment, climate action, education, healthcare, and cultural cooperation. According to a government statement, the award also signals Saint Lucia’s commitment to deepening global South solidarity and historical connection with the African continent.

Following the conferment, the Nigerian Head of State will now be formally addressed as:
His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, KCOSL (Hon.)
President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
