St. Lucia Athletics Association Celebrates Successful Kids’ Athletics Activity Day

Must Read

(Saint Lucia Daily Post – June 1, 2025) The St. Lucia Athletics Association (SLAA) hosted a lively and inspiring Kids Athletics Activity Day on Thursday May 22, 2025 at the SAB Playing Field, bringing together over 50 children from Camille Henry Memorial School, Carmen Rene Memorial School, and Sprint Tech Athletics Club. The event aimed to introduce young children to the joys and fundamentals of athletics through a series of engaging activities.

Starting at 3:00 p.m., the field buzzed with energy, laughter, and teamwork as participants rotated through six exciting activity stations. These stations featured activities such as running, jumping, hopping, hurdles, and throwing, all designed to be fun and developmentally appropriate. Passionate coaches facilitated each station, creating a safe and supportive environment where every child could enjoy learning and participating.

At the conclusion of the activities, each participant was awarded a certificate of participation— a small but meaningful token recognizing their efforts and achievements throughout the day. The smiles and spirited enthusiasm displayed by the children underscored the event’s success.

Expressing her satisfaction, President Dora Henry said, “This is a heartening example of the joy and potential that Kids Athletics can inspire.” She emphasized the significance of this event as the first of several Kids Athletics sessions planned by the Association. The SLAA is committed to expanding grassroots development by collaborating with infant schools across the island to encourage even more children to stay active.

“We are planting seeds—not just for future champions, but for healthy, active lifestyles rooted in joy, confidence, and connection,” President Henry added.
