(Castries, Saint Lucia – May 30, 2025) — The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) has intensified its crackdown on organized crime with a string of coordinated operations that have resulted in major narcotics and firearm seizures across the island, including a nearly $5 million cocaine bust at Dauphin Beach.
Over a 48-hour period, multiple specialized units of the RSLPF—including the Gangs, Narcotics and Firearms Unit North and South, Special Operations Team, K9 Unit, Special Services Unit, Tactical Response Unit South, and Central Intelligence Unit—conducted intelligence-driven actions targeting transnational criminal activity.
On Wednesday, May 28, officers executed a strategic operation along Dauphin Beach in Monchy. Based on credible intelligence, a concealed dinghy was located along the shoreline. A thorough search revealed 175 brick-shaped packages wrapped in black plastic and containing a white powdery substance. Field tests confirmed the substance to be cocaine. The total weight of the narcotics amounted to 196.56 kilograms, with an estimated street value of EC $4,914,000 (approximately USD $3.85 million).
The following day, on Thursday, May 29, two search warrants were executed in Desruisseaux and Mon Repos. At the residence of Kyle Devonte Serieux in Mon Repos, officers recovered one black Colt .357 revolver, two rounds of .357 Magnum ammunition, and 52 grams of cannabis resin. Serieux was arrested and charged, then taken before the Second District Court where he was granted bail in the sum of EC $22,000.
In a separate operation later that day, RSLPF officers stationed at the Vieux Fort Port intercepted a shipment flagged during a two-week surveillance effort led in partnership with Customs and Excise South, SLASPA, and the Scenes of Crime Unit South. The package, originating from New York City, was found to contain 25 vacuum-sealed packets of suspected cannabis resin hidden in tampered food containers. The recovered narcotics weighed 10.35 kilograms and carried an estimated street value of EC $68,100. No arrests have been made, but police say multiple persons of interest have been identified, and the investigation remains ongoing.
These operations followed a major firearm interdiction at Port Castries earlier in the week, which triggered a full-scale enforcement sweep across several districts.
Commissioner of Police, Verne Garde, praised the commitment and professionalism of all officers involved. He emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration and reiterated the Force’s zero-tolerance stance toward crime. “These operations not only disrupted the flow of illegal drugs and firearms into our communities but also sent a strong message to those who seek to endanger public safety through criminal enterprise,” the Commissioner stated.
The RSLPF says it remains focused on intelligence-led policing and continues to work closely with domestic and international agencies to combat crime and protect communities across Saint Lucia.
