Tabitha Charavs, a local author and publisher, has released a deeply personal book that chronicles her transformative life experiences. In an exclusive interview, she revealed the profound journey behind her publication.

“I had no intention of doing it because nobody would want their life out there like that,” Charavs admitted. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, she experienced what she describes as a spiritual calling. “In 2020, during the COVID time, it was in my dream. I was instructed to do that.”
Despite initial reluctance and advice from family and friends to keep her experiences private, Charavs felt an undeniable push to share her story. “When the thought came to me the third time, saying that I should really write a book because I can help or inspire people that are going through the same situation as me, then I said to them that I cannot ignore it.”
The book addresses a challenging period in her life when she was accused of indecent assault and unlawful sexual conduct. She spent three nights in police custody in 2012, an experience she approached with remarkable resilience. “God really gave me peace through that entire situation,” she recalled. “The police officer was saying to me I will not be able to sleep at night… but I was very calm.”
Drawing inspiration from the biblical story of Joseph, Charavs explained her perspective: “If I was not accused of something that I know nothing about, I probably would have still been in the institution that I was working, making minimum pay, but God used what the enemy meant for my bad and used it for my good.”
“Beyond Brokenness” is more than just a legal narrative. “The book is not really on what happened to me in that situation,” Charavs explained. “I spoke about my time when I was in an abusive relationship… I have poetry. When I was going through a tough time, I used to write a lot.”
The book offers more than just a personal story. “I have things like trying to become a better version of yourself and what to do for you to rise,” she added.
Available on Amazon, West Bull Press, and directly from the author, “Beyond Brokenness: From Struggles to Strength” is priced from $4.99 for an e-copy to $39.99 for a hardcover edition. Charavs hopes her book will provide hope and inspiration, emphasizing her core message: “There is hope in the midst of darkness.”
