Background Information
The Ministry of Equity, Social Justice, and Empowerment is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Income Support Program (ISP), a significant initiative under the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB)- funded “Safety Nets for Vulnerable Populations Affected by the Coronavirus” Project. Launched on September 19, 2023, the ISP aimed to provide essential financial relief to displaced in-formal sector workers impacted by the economic challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Over the past year, the ISP disbursed a one-time cash transfer of XCD 1,500 to beneficiaries across all constituencies. 5,088 individuals benefited from the program, offering much-needed support to vulnerable groups not covered by existing cash transfer programs. This initiative played a crucial role in stabilizing the economic situation of many families, providing a safety net during these challenging times.
