Participants travelled from as far as Antarctica to take part in the iconic 2.5-mile open water event, which continues to attract a dynamic mix of amateur and seasoned swimmers. Widely regarded as one of the Caribbean’s flagship sporting experiences, the annual swim brings together individuals of all ages and skill levels in a shared display of endurance, recreation, and community spirit.
Organizers highlighted the broad age range of participants—from first-time entrants to veteran swimmers—as a defining feature of the event, underscoring its inclusive appeal and accessibility.

We are not just hosting events—we are creating world-class experiences that attract visitors, generate economic activity, and showcase the beauty of our islands,” she added.
Fontinelle further emphasized that the continued growth of the cross-channel swim highlights the country’s capacity to host large-scale international events while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
