The Xpressions Carnival Band, one of Saint Lucia’s fastest up and coming trending bands has officially launched “Sunset Glow,” a captivating section within its highly anticipated Splish Splash presentation for the upcoming 2026 carnival season.
Designed by Shorn Emmanuel, Sunset Glow is a visually striking portrayal of the ocean’s beauty at dusk, blending vibrant colours with a deeper environmental message. The section captures what organizers describe as “a reflection at the edge of day,” symbolizing both admiration for the sea’s natural allure and a call to recognize the importance of its preservation.
“This section represents awareness, the moment we pause to admire the ocean’s beauty and recognize what is at risk,” the band noted in its launch material. “The sea glows not just with romance, but with responsibility, reminding us that preservation begins with appreciation.”
The section offers a range of costume options for revelers, including front line and back line packages for both male and female participants, as well as a special cut option. Each design features bold, radiant elements inspired by sunset hues and marine life, consistent with the band’s dynamic and immersive storytelling approach.
Section Producer Joseph Wendell Steven emphasized the intention behind this year’s presentation, noting that the band continues to push creative boundaries while remaining socially conscious. “With Sunset Glow, we wanted to go beyond aesthetics and create a section that resonates on a deeper level. Carnival is a celebration, but it is also a platform. Through this portrayal, we are inviting revelers to celebrate responsibly and to appreciate the natural beauty that inspires our culture.”
Registration for the Splish Splash presentation is now officially open. Interested participants are required to secure their spots with a non-refundable deposit, with full details available through the band’s official contact channels.
