Saint Lucia’s rugby programme will take another major step onto the regional stage this week as three national teams travel to Guadeloupe to compete in the Guadeloupe GoodLuck 7s, scheduled for February 6 and 7, 2026.
The island will be represented by a Senior Men’s team, a Senior Women’s team, and a Development Under-23 squad, underscoring the Saint Lucia Rugby Football Union’s continued focus on both elite performance and long-term player development.

The GoodLuck 7s tournament brings together leading rugby teams from across the French Caribbean and wider region for two days of fast-paced, high-intensity sevens action. Organisers say the competition is known for its physicality, skill level, and strong regional rivalry.
Technical Director Wayne Pantor described the multi-team entry as a proud moment for the local programme. “We are incredibly proud to be able to send three teams to compete at the Guadeloupe GoodLuck 7s,” Pantor said. “This tournament provides an excellent opportunity for our players to test themselves against strong regional opposition while gaining valuable international experience. We are confident they will represent Saint Lucia with passion, pride, and perseverance.”
Preparations for the tournament have included intensive training sessions and practice matches, as players fine-tuned tactical execution and conditioning ahead of the trip. Officials say the Development Under-23 team, in particular, will benefit from exposure to competitive international play as part of the pathway toward senior national selection.
Saint Lucia Rugby officials also expressed appreciation to sponsors, supporters, and the wider community for their continued backing, noting that such regional competitions are critical to the sport’s growth on the island.
The teams are expected to provide regular updates throughout the tournament via official social media channels.
