Police Charge Jamaican National With Capital Murder in La Clery Security Guard Killing

Police have made a major breakthrough in the fatal shooting of a security guard in La Clery with the arrest and charging of a suspect.

Cresean Biscombe was fatally shot on Monday, January 19, 2026, during an incident in the La Clery area. 

Investigations into the killing led to the arrest of Javier Cleveland Bailey, a Jamaican national, who was formally charged with capital murder on January 27.

Bailey appeared before the First District Court on Wednesday, January 28, where he was remanded into custody pending further proceedings.

Police have also confirmed that a second suspect linked to the case was arrested earlier this week and is currently assisting investigators as inquiries continue.

Authorities say investigations remain ongoing, and further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
