Preparatory Works Begin for Second Annual Jazz en Vierge Ahead of April 26 Event

Must Read

Preparations are underway for the second annual Jazz en Vierge, following a site visit conducted last week by officials to assess the Pointe en Vierge venue.

The visit focused on evaluating the areas to be levelled for the stage and event infrastructure, along with required upgrades to the access road and parking facilities. Organisers have confirmed that debushing and clearing of the venue will begin on January 27, as work progresses toward hosting the event on April 26.

The inaugural Jazz en Vierge was widely praised for its scenic oceanfront setting, drawing comparisons to the iconic Main Stage at Pigeon Island and setting strong expectations for this year’s staging.

Micoud North Member of Parliament Jeremiah Norbert welcomed the start of preparatory works, noting the importance of early coordination.

“Last year’s Jazz en Vierge exceeded expectations, and we are building on that momentum. The response from patrons, performers and the wider public was extremely encouraging, and this year promises to be even bigger and better,” Norbert said, adding that the official lineup will be revealed in due course.

He also highlighted the value of the site visit, which included the Minister for Infrastructure and his technical team, in ensuring the venue meets safety and accessibility standards.

Norbert noted that the event generates economic activity and positive exposure for Micoud, benefiting vendors, residents, and the wider community, while strengthening the south of the island as a hub for cultural entertainment.

Organisers have indicated that further details, including the artist lineup, will be announced at a press conference at a later date as anticipation continues to build for Jazz en Vierge 2026.
