Parks and Destang Tumble Records in OECS Swim Championships

On Day 1 of the OECS Swim Championships 2025 being held in Saint Vincent & the Grenadines yesterday, Saint Lucia’s Sapphire Parks and Antoine Destang laid down their markers as standout performers setting new National and OECS records.

In the evening session Sapphire Parks broke a 19-year-old record in the 11–12 Girls 100m Backstroke, improving Saint Lucian Siona Huxley’s 1:10.83 to 1:09.56. Antoine Destang would soon follow, setting a new OECS record in the 15–17 Boys 100m Backstroke, lowering Grenadian Zackary Gresham’s 58.36 to 55.63!

A total of 32 medals were hauled in by team Saint Lucia on Day 1.
