Castries, October 10, 2025 — The Saint Lucia Social Development Fund (SSDF), an implementing agency of the Ministry of Equity, Social Justice and Empowerment, hosted a Student Recognition Ceremony to celebrate the outstanding academic achievements of students whose parents are beneficiaries of the Koudmen Ste Lisi (KSL), Social Support Services, Educational Assistance Program (EAP), and Community Re-Entry Program (C-REP).
The event, held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Chateau Heritage in Dennery, brought together SSDF Executive Director Mr. John Victorin, KSL Program Coordinator Ms. Wendy Monrose, officers from the Social Support Services and C-REP units, proud parents, and the honoured students.
During the ceremony, special awards were presented to three top-performing students representing each program area — with the KSL Program achieving an average score of 90%, Social Support Services 98.2%, and C-REP 90.3% in the 2025 Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA).
In her remarks, Ms. Wendy Monrose, KSL Program Coordinator, commended both students and parents for their perseverance and collaboration, emphasizing that their success reflects the SSDF’s commitment to its clients. “At SSDF, we take very seriously our relationship with our clients. Your victory, as parents, is also our victory. We are proud of your children’s success and want to celebrate their accomplishments, while encouraging them to continue striving for excellence as they begin their secondary school journey,” said Ms. Monrose.
The SSDF, in collaboration with the Government of Saint Lucia, continues to strengthen interventions that address poverty in all its dimensions. Recognizing the strong link between education and social mobility, the Educational Assistance Program (EAP) is designed to improve educational outcomes for students from low-income households by providing financial and material support to ease the burden of schooling costs.
Through such initiatives, the SSDF continues to fulfill its mandate of empowering communities, reducing poverty, and promoting inclusive social development across Saint Lucia.
