Police have arrested three employees of Port Castries, including a customs officer, on Monday, October 7.
While details surrounding the arrests remain unclear, reports suggest the matter is linked to a police operation at the Vieux Fort Port in May, during which officers recovered illegal drugs and ammunition.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) has not yet issued an official statement on the incident.
In recent months, law enforcement has intensified surveillance at the island’s ports of entry. Both Port Castries and the Vieux Fort Port have been key points of interception for shipments containing illegal weapons, narcotics, and other contraband items.
